The Many Faces of… Anne Hathaway

With everyone looking forward to The Dark Knight Rises I thought it would be a good idea to look at the movies catwoman Anne Hathaway has been in. You can already look at the ones Christian Bale and Tom Hardy did.

Anne Hathaway was born in 1982 in New York. In school she played in several plays and she finally was admitted in The Barrow Group Theater Company’s acting program as the first teenager to do so. She started out in Disney movies and earned an Oscar nomination for her role in Rachel Getting Married. She currently has 27 movie and TV credits to her name.

My favorite roles are the ones in Alice in Wonderland (where it’s obvious she was having fun doing it) and Rachel Getting Married (where she really impressed me).

What’s your favorite Anne Hathaway role?

    • You should, she really impressed me with that. It’s a funny story how I got to see that movie. A friend of mine had a crush on this woman named Rachel and when he saw this DVD he thought he was inspired by the title to buy it 🙂

  1. I’ve only seen two Anne Hathaway films (Alice in Wonderland and Rio) so I can’t say to much about her, but I’ve heard her Yorkshire accent is terrible. In comparisson to you Hathaway never impressed me in Alice and Wonderland which I thought to be an OK film, but while it’s visually great it was lacking in narrative.

    • I don’t notice accents, so that never bothers me. I didn’t like Alice in Wonderland much, but she was really funny in it just by the way she moved and spoke. It was the most memorable thing to me out of that film.

  2. She’s a talented actress. I have to say I’m loving the Batman images that have been appearing….she’s certainly looks like a great Catwoman…now can she play one?

  3. I really like her in romantic comedies etc. but I think she is the wrong choice for Catwoman. She doesn’t have that sexiness and at the same time confusion dwelling inside and her features are way too distinctive.

    • Well, I think she might surprise people. Look at Heath Ledger, people were wondering if he would be able to play The Joker and we know how impressive he was.

  4. She’s been really growing as an actress…I think she makes good choices that even when the movie may be terrible it lets audiences see her in ways they might not have before (like Alice in Wonderland)! Cheers.

  5. She is gorgeous surely and I actually enjoyed her earlier roles in Princess Diaries. But generally I think she’s just an ok actress, didn’t like her in Becoming Jane, I wish they had cast a British actress who’s not as pretty but more talented. I think my favorite role of hers is yet to come 🙂

  6. Don’t think I considered anything but a teen rom com actress until Brokeback Mountain. She hasn’t blown me away. She’s a solid actress, there’s no doubt about it. Really enjoyed her role in Alice in Wonderland. She was the perfect queen.

  7. Hathaway is one of my cinematic ‘crushes’, I suppose. I never saw any of her kid-friendly roles, so I remember her for her dark performances in Rachel Getting Married and Havoc (although the latter was not very good).
