I haven’t seen him in too much but he was good in Bernie. I’m looking forward to seeing him in Mud this year.

I wished his role in Bernie was bigger as he was playing an interesting character. I am curious what he will do with his role in Mud.

Great job with this, as always. Those last couple of pictures are pretty scary, he has indeed lost a ton of weight. Agree that he was good in BERNIE but my favorite role of his will probably always be the Sheriff Buddy Deeds in LONE STAR.

Thanks Paula. Yeah, that’s a very different look. Have not seen Lone Star.

You know, I’m slightly ashamed to admit it, but I kinda liked him in Sahara! It was a fun film!

Last year’s Killer Joe really impressed me. Looking forward to seeing him in Mud and also Lincoln Lawyer – got it recorded and waiting to be seen.

Sahara was a fun movie, although I can’t remember much about it anymore.

Killer Joe really showed him differently. I’m pretty sure you’ll enjoy Lincoln Lawyer.

Killer Joe for sure. Everyone in that movie was great, but he knocked it out of the park. Superb.

Have to agree with you on that Emil.

McConaughey’s the kind of guy that despite his good looks I just don’t find attractive at all. I quite like him in The Wedding Planner, yes I know it’s a rom-com but for some reason it was pretty sweet. He’s good in The Lincoln Lawyer, too.

Great post! I’d have to say Killer Joe was my favorite too. I also thought he was terrific in Bernie, and I liked The Lincoln Lawyer.

    Hi, Nostra and company:

Matthew McConaughey started getting my attention as Denton Van Zan in ‘Reign of Fire’, because I didn’t recognize him until well into the film.

Showed great potential as a close to tough guy in ‘The Lincoln Lawyer’. And is just starting to branch out and make his marks in ‘Frailty’ and ‘Killer Joe’.

Hi Jack. That was a very different role (and look) and I liked him in that. I think his current movie selections are a lot more interesting roles.

It’s great to see McConaughey having a resurgence of sorts. My favorite role is still Wooderson, but I would put Killer Joe a close second now.

Yeah, he seems to be having one indeed. Have not seen Wooderson, but did check out Killer Joe where he managed to impress.
