The Many Faces of… Mila Kunis

Overview of the roles and movies of actress Mila Kunis

Mila Kunis was born on born August 14, 1983 in Chernivtsi in Ukraine. She grew up there until her family moved to Los Angeles when she was seven. One of the reason of the movie was antisemitism (Kunis is Jewish). She went to Rosewood Elementary School, not able to talk a word of English, which made it very hard for her. When she was nine her father brought her to acting classes after school. She first did some commercials (for Barbie and Lisa Frank). Her first television apperance was on Days of Our Lives. She also appeared in Baywatch and 7th Heaven. In 1998 Kunis got a role in That ’70s Show, which ran for eight seasons. She also did voice work on Family Guy. She has since appeared in several movies including Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Max Payne, The Book of Eli, Date Night, Black Swan, Friends with Benefits, Ted and Oz the Great and Powerful.

  1. Black Swan! I know that she got a lot of internet flack for her Awards run that year, but I personally thought she was best in show, even better than Portman, and would have loved to see her nominated over at least three of Oscar’s nominated ladies (Amy Adams and Jackie Weaver were both better than Kunis IMHO).

  2. Loved her in That 70’s show. I always found her performance enjoyable in movies, even though I don’t like the movies themselves (Friends With Benefits).

  3. Oh, I love her – she is amazing both in comedy and drama, but she really deserves better roles than her recent films offered her.

  4. I like her in That 70s Show, also easy going girl in Friends With Benefits, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, and others. I agree with Sati, she deserves more. Latest role in Great Oz, though different, it isn’t enough.

  5. I’ll always think of That 70s Show first when I think of her. Sticking with film though, I thought she fully accomplished everything the character demanded of her in Ted. She was good in Black Swan too, but overshadowed by all her cast-mates.

    • I hardly watch any television, so I never saw That 70’s Show. I honestly can not remember a thing about her in Ted 🙂
You are right about Black Swan, but I think her role was not huge…plus Portman stole every scene she was in of course 😉

  6. Never got into the 70’s Show but love her in film. The Book of Eli was my favorite so far. Black Swan was excellent as well. Especially that one scene where both her and Natalie Portman are about to…well, you know.

  7. One of my favorite films, Get Over It, had a very small role for Kunis – but for most of it she was wearing a bikini…..

Or, at least, that’s the way I remember it.

There’s little wonder she’s among the top 5 of these “Many Faces Of…” Posts, man.
