  1. So far, I’ve only seen a few films w/ Rooney Mara. I would say “The Social Network” is still her best film while “Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” is her best performance.

  2. Never seen her before “The Social Network”. I think she owes a big thank to David Fincher, because after “The Social Network” and “Dragon Tattoo” (and an Oscar nomination) she really turns into one of the most promising young female performer nowadays. You know, working with Soderbergh, Spike Jonze, Terrence Malick, Stephen Daldry, and also becoming the new face of Calvin Klein, she surely has a bright career ahead. She did great in “Dragon Tattoo”.

  3. Great article. You know, I saw ‘Youth in Revolt,’ and I honestly I do not even remember Rooney Mara being in it. The one real scene in which Rooney appears in ‘The Social Network’ was not enough to woo me. And I was not a fan of ‘The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’ remake – with Noomi Rapace’s original rendering, which was quite enigmatic, it felt like Rooney (along with everybody else) was working too hard to distinguish her performance (and the film) from the original. But with ‘Side Effects’, I am definitely SOLD.

That said, after ‘House of Cards’, my celebrity crush definitely lies with her sister, Kate.

    • I don’t remember her in Youth in Revolt either, but then again I don’t remember much of that movie 😉

Also thought she was very good in Side Effects.

Have not seen House of Cards yet (not available here), but I’ve heard good things about that show.

    • Thanks a lot BrikHaus, really appreciate these. In general I really like getting these awards but generally don’t participate in them as they are a bit like chain mail. Will check it out and respond to some of the questions on your blog if that is alright with you.

  4. Unsurprisingly, it’s TGWTDT that has my vote for her. She’s fantastic in that. It’s a good enough film, but without her performance the film would have been so damn dry.

  5. I think both Rooney and Kate are very talented, and both should have bright futures in the business. Having said that, it’s going to be difficult for Rooney to top her TGWTDT performance. Fantastic stuff right there.
