Bounty Killer (2013)

Review Bounty Killer

With a huge supply of movies you have to make choices about which ones to see. Which way that is done differs from person to person. I usually do that based on IMDB scores, but I sometimes watch movies which don’t score high because a specific actor is in it or if I usually enjoy the director’s work. Bounty Killer is a movie I was given and I decided to watch it without doing any further investigation.

Review Bounty Killer

Looking at the DVD cover you immediately have a specific expectation because it has a woman in a tight suit with pistols in her hand. This obviously is not a big moving drama and after watching it that’s easy to confirm. The movie basically has everything to keep men interested: A beautiful woman, fast cars and lots of weapons. The world in which this story is set is one where governments have disappeared and CEO’s are tracked down by bounty hunters. It is a world without much luxury and the bounty hunters are the celebrities with lots of fans. Mary Death (Christian Pitre) is the most famous one and is good at her job. When she gets an assignment to track down another bounty hunter she starts to wonder whether she should. She decides to investigate and she faces many obstacles she has to neutralise.

Recensie Bounty Killer

This movie strongly reminded me of a Machete movie. In other words it is not a movie which is very good, but which the producers also know and who have made it into something that is fun to watch. The Mad Max like world feels realistic and it has some cool ideas, like a gun caddy who gives the bounty killer the right weapon at the right moment. If you are into B movies like Machete, then you will probably also be able to enjoy Bounty Killer.

  1. I really enjoyed this movie, while I agree with the score on a regular movie scale, I appreciate that it’s stilla mostly positive review that would rank higher on a B-movie scale. Nothing serious to it, but quite a bit of fun to watch.
