The Many Faces of… Jonah Hill

Overview movies Jonah Hill

With the release of 22 Jump Street this week, starring Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill I thought I’d be a good time to look at the many roles of the latter one. Jonah Hill was born on December 20 1983 in Los Angeles. When he was in college he was writing and performing his own plays. He managed to be successfull and it resulted in him pursuing a career in film. Thanks to him being friends with the kids of Dustin Hoffman he managed to get a audition for what would be his first movie role in I Heart Huckabees. He played a small role in The 40 Year Old Virgin and Judd Apatow would later give him a bigger role in Knocked Up and Superbad and would continue to work with him. He was in the TV show Campus Ladies. His roles in Moneyball and The Wolf of Wall Street earned him Oscar nominations. Except acting he also is a writer and co wrote Bruno and 21 Jump Street.

  1. Jonah Hill! If you would’ve told me four years ago that this guy would have two Oscar nominations under his belt, I would’ve laughed. I think Wolf of Wall Street and Superbad are my two favorites of his. His career has been really fun to witness. I went from thinking he was hilarious, to being annoyed with him for playing the same roles over and over, to being wowed by him in Moneyball and WOWS. I’m firmly in his corner now, and I can’t wait to see what he does next.

  2. Right now, The Wolf of Wall Street. He was the great sidekick to Leo and just gave it his all and more. I hope he does more films with Leo and Scorsese. He’s that fucking good. My favorite comedic performance from him is Superbad as I’m eager for 22 Jump Street as he had me rolling in laughter when he pretends to be a Chicano.

    • Yeah, he was great in that movie. Do hope he does more serious stuff as well. Just saw 22 Jump Street today and he was extremely funny in that scene!

    • Yeah, he’s been doing it for a while now. I actually was surprised as well as I thought Superbad was one of his first films before making this overview.
