The Monday Question: Which movies would you like to experience for the first time again?

The Monday Question

A great joy of watching movies is that sense of discovery. Knowing that there is so much out there you haven’t seen and the thrill of finding one which ultimately touches you unlike any other movie has done. I love that first experience you have if it is a movie you have a deep connection with, of the unknown and it’s a shame that you know that the second time you’ll see it that feeling would be slightly different. It made me think:

Which movie(s) would you like to experience for the first time again?

Of course you could go for movies which have big reveals, something like Oldboy. But if I was forced to only pick two or three I’d probably go for my top 3 movies, Black Swan, Pulp Fiction and Mr.Nobody as I’m sure that they would have the same impact on me and would end up in the same spots. It would be thrilling to not know what would happen. Interested to know which movies you’d pick!

    • I can understand those choices, but wasn’t as big a fan of Tree of Life. Enter the Void is a one time movie for me, so I guess it would be a perfect choice for seeing it again for the first time 😉

  1. Oldboy is a perfect choice for something like this. Wish I had gotten to see Do the Right Thing in a theater. I did get to see The Matrix that way, would love to experience that for the first time again. So many I really could go on forever with this.

  2. Alien with the oculus rift, which is really happening, that is going to be such a thrill! Oculus Rift I think, is going to have a big impact and revolutionize the entertainment business. I believe it’s going to be a big game changer

  3. Great question!! For me it would have to be 2001 and 12 Monkeys, my personal top two. I have watched both at least 40-50 times and I’d LOVE to be able to experience either of those films again as a first watch. mainly cos I remember how much they affected me the first time around!

  4. Boy there are so many films I’d love to see for the first time again. But I’d love to see these on the biggest screen I can find for the first time:
    -Blade Runner
    -2001: A Space Odyssey
-The Dark Knight (I actually saw it twice at a 70mm IMAX theater but I’d see it again in a heartbeat)
    -The Wild Bunch
    -Raiders of the Lost Ark
-Some of the older James Bond films: Thunderball, On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, Goldfinger, From Russia With Love
    -The Godfather 1 & 2
    -The Thin Red Line

  5. I’d love to watch The Dark Knight again. Also anything from my childhood, like Indiana Jones or Star Wars. It’s the reason I can’t wait to show my kids these films.
