Elizabeth Banks was born on the 10th of February 1974 in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. When growing up she played baseball and also rode horses. She started acting when she joined a school play. In In 1992 she finished high school and went to the university of Pennsylvania, studying communications and drama. Her real name Elizabeth Mitchell, but she changed it because there already was an actress with that name.

Although she got offered a chance to play a part in the soap opera Santa Barbara she decided to decline. Her first movie role was in Surrender Dorothy. She did various small part and it was her role in The 40-Year-Old Virgin, which helped her career. She also acted in the Spiderman movies, Invincible, Meet Bill, Fred Claus, Definitely Maybe, Zack and Miri Make a Porno, W., Role Models and Our Idiot Brother. She was Effie Trinket in The Hunger Games trilogy. She was in the jury in the movie Pitch Perfect, which she produced. She directed the sequel. Next year she’ll be playing the role of Rita Repulsa in the Power Rangers film.

  1. Wow, there’s so many. It’s hard to choose. She’s really one of the best working out there whether it’s in comedy or drama. Probably The Lego Movie.

  2. I gotta say I really liked her in Love and Mercy. I’ve always found her to be hit-or-miss but I thought she gave a pivotal performance in that film. More people need to see it.

  3. Greta to see Elizabeth Banks get the spotlight. I love her charisma. She has real personality which she seems to bring to each of the roles I’ve seen of her. Very funny too with an intelligent wit.
