The Many Faces of… Liam Neeson

Overview of the roles of actor Liam Neeson movies

Liam Neeson was born on 7 June 1952 in Northern Ireland. When he was growing up he started boxing at the age of nine and eventually became an amateur senior boxing champion. His acting started when he was given the lead role in a school play at age eleven. He liked it and kept acting. He eventually went to Queen’s University Belfast to study physics and computer science, but left and worked for the Guinness Brewery.

He joined a theater in 1976 and had his first movie role in 1977 in Pilgrim’s Progress. He moved to Hollywood in 1987 where he appeared in Suspect. His first big starring role was in Darkman, he since appeared in movies which had a lot of success like Schindler’s List, The Phantom Menace, Taken and the Batman movies. Continue reading →

The Grey (2012)

Liam Neeson has made quite the comeback as an action star ever since he appeared in Taken. The Grey places him in an ice cold environment with his enemies in the form of the cold weather and an angry, vicious pack of wolves. Schindler’s List (1993)


There are some movies which you know you really have to see, but somehow never had. The reason I didn’t watch Schindler’s List before was mainly because of its heavy subject matter and it’s length. Before you watch it you already know it’s going to be tough to watch and that you won’t be feeling very happy afterwards. Unknown (2011)

Sometimes it’s nice if you are able to watch a movie that you don’t know anything about. This was the case for me with Unknown. As I liked Liam Neeson in Taken I gave this a chance as well.

Dr. Martin Harris (Liam Neeson) is visiting Berlin together with his wife Liz (January Jones) Berlijn to give a speech during a congress about biology. He is involved in a car crash and ends up in a coma. When he awakens he returns to his hotel to find out that no one seems to know him anymore, not even his own wife who is married to a man who has the same name as he has. Did Martin go crazy or can he find the evidence to prove his identity?

The A-Team (2010)

In the eighties the A-team was a very popular television series, which i loved watching growing up. I had a B.A.Baracus action figure, the A-team fan with several Faces, Murdochs, Hannibals and B.A.’s and the complete series of collectible cards. I still remember them coming to the Netherlands and seeing it on TV. The airport was crowded. They really were extremely popular.
A while ago Justin Lee Collins, who makes a series called “Bring back…” (in which he tries to find the cast members of a specific show or movie and get them together again), tried to get the A-team together again. Of course George Peppard has already passed, but he did manage to meet the rest of the cast and some even got together for drinks. It really brought back memories and it also showed how old the cast has become.
When remaking the series into a movie it was a logical step to recast the iconic characters, something Mr.T didn’t approve of. Continue reading →
