If you are into comics, video games or movies (since you are reading this chances are pretty good it’s at least one out of three) you have probably heard of the Comic-Con. It’s the yearly convention in which fans of any of these come together to get the latest info, buy new things or dress up as their favorite characters. You could say it is a convention of geeks, but the forms of entertainment that rule the world now are widely consumed and it’s normal to be a big fan of something. The Greatest Movie Ever Sold (2011)

Just like Michael Moore, Morgan Spurlock is a documentary maker with his own distinct style. Although he isn’t as political he likes to have the camera pointed at him. He always injects his documentaries with lots of humour, which (of course) won’t be everyone’s taste. Personally it’s something I enjoy and liked Supersize Me. Where in the World is Osama Bin Laden wasn’t as good, but I did like his segment in Freakonomics. Now he’s back with The Greatest Movie Ever Sold, where he looks into the world of branding, product placement and advertising in movies. Freakonomics (2010)

Freakonomics, written by Steven Levitt and Stephen Dubner, has been a very succesful book which has sold over 4 million copies. It looks at society using economics on subjects that most economists would not choose. With its success and the interesting subject matter it’s perfect to use the material for a documentary.
