The 5 Obstructions blogathon: Thank you!

The 5 Obstructions blogathon

With November now underway, it means that my the 5 Obstructions blogathon, which took 5 months has come to a close. I have to say that I am very happy with the amount of people who have joined. As expected with such a gruelling and challenging blogathon not all participants have me it through all 5 obstructions, but a nice amount did. I want to thank everyone who participated in this blogathon in making this a success. I appreciated you taking on the challenge and sticking with it, it has resulted in a lot of interesting articles and I hope you have picked up some new ideas to make your own blog even better.

I am happy to announce that I am already working on my next blogathon (which will probably kick off either in december or january) together with KaramelKinema.

If you are looking for another blogathon to jump into, you can as Mettel Ray has just announced her blogathon on Friday and it will start tomorrow. You can find details about it here.

If you participated I would like to know what your experiences was like with this blogathon and things which you think might be improved during a next blogathon (so I can make the experience even better)?

For those wanting to check out all the articles which have been written, you can find those after the jump. Continue reading

Obstruction 5: Is too much choice a bad thing?

I though it wouldn’t be difficult to write something for my fifth and final obstruction. There was complete freedom to write about anything movie related, but I had a hard time thinking about a subject. The thing is that I usually write something immediately after I get the idea and for this obstruction none seemed to be coming. That was until I was playing Grand Theft Auto 5 yesterday. If you had to describe it as a movie it would probably be one of those movies which falls in several genres. It would be a crime/heist movie, but it would also be a comedy, with very dark humour. This post isn’t about that game however, but the game did get me thinking. Continue reading

The 5 Obstructions blogathon: Obstruction 4

The 5 Obstructions blogathon

With month 3 of this blogathon behind us I have to say that a lot of bloggers failed to turn in their entry. Maybe this was because it was too hard or simply because it is a time when a lot of people are enjoying their holidays. Whatever the case, there were a lot of bloggers who did manage to do the obstruction and a lot even earned a golden checkmark. I know you are interested to know what the challenge is for this month, so I won’t keep you waiting any further. Continue reading

The 5 Obstructions blogathon: Obstruction 3

The 5 Obstructions blogathon

Month two of the 5 Obstructions blogathon is now behind us and it’s good to see many bloggers managed to arrange interviews with people involved with a specific movie. I hope this will motivate you to do more of them in the future after finding out it is possible. Unfortunately there were also a big number of blogs who didn’t put up a post (if I missed it please let me know) so I hope everyone will pick up on the third obstruction. You can find an overview of all current entries here. But you are here to see what you have to do this month. Time to reveal the Obstruction 3. Continue reading

Obstruction 1: Movie 43 (2013)

The 5 Obstructions blogathon

This is my own entry for the 5 Obstructions Blogathon: Obstruction 1. I have chosen to go with a movie I did not like, which is Movie 43 (I don’t suggest anyone to watch it. My real score: 1

Review of Movie 43 - Part of the 5 Obstructions blogathon

It’s been a long time since there has been a movie in which so many famous actors and actresses participate, but in Movie 43 the list of celebrities seems unending. Hugh Jackman, Kate Winslet, Dennis Quaid, Naomi Watts, Anna Faris, Emma Stone, Kieran Culkin, Greg Kinnear, Seth MacFarlane and Richard Gere are just some of the picks for this comedy. Movie audiences have grown to like the Apatow inspired gross out humour and Movie 43 is full of it. The question is, will you be able to enjoy it? Continue reading
