The Monday Question: What are your movie related resolutions for 2016?

The Monday Question

The new year has begun, which of course is a great moment to look forward to the coming movie/blogging year. That’s why this week’s question is:

What are your movie related resolutions for 2016?

I’ve set myself the following goals:
1. Last year I set myself the goal to watch at least 300 movies. Something I easily reached (and shattered with 373), but I’m not planning to increase that number though, so the goal remains the same.
2. To watch all the 2016 Blindspot films this year.
3. To continue my “Lost Cinemas of Rotterdam” articles. Something which I really enjoy doing (even though it might not be of much interest to international readers).
4. Do at least three interviews.
5. Make sure I blog more often than I did last year. Especially towards the end of the year there were sometimes days or maybe weeks I wouldn’t put up a new post, so I’m planning to return to form and post at least five times a week. As this blog has developed quite a backlog of reviews I still need to translate from the Dutch version of my site I will also try to translate new reviews immediately and slowly try to get rid of the backlog so that both the English as the Dutch version are comparable.

    • I finished The Story of Film series last year and what a stunning one it was. Still have to see The Story of Children in Film which came as an extra disc. It has taught me so much I didn’t know about movies!

  1. I need to keep it simple since I do not watch as many films as I used to. But here are my goals:

    1. Though I have many Criterion Collection films on DVD and Blu-Ray, I have yet to watch one. So I plan to watch them all, with a goal of one-a-week.

    2. Write a review for all films I watch at the theatre.

  2. You may have already seen mine but the two big ones are to blog everyday and also watch 120 films this year. Pales in comparison to 300 though!

    • Yeah, seen those and hope you’ll be able to do that. I’m off to a good start posting two reviews per day to make sure I catch up on the backlog and don’t add any new ones to it.
