22 Jump Street Review

Before 21 Jump Street was released there were not many movie lovers who were expecting it would be a movie worth watching. Several TV shows were already turned into movies (Miami Vice and The A-Team are just two of them) and in general they were of inferior quality, not being able to make the concept of the TV show shine in movie format. 21 Jump Street managed to surprise though, partly because it made fun of the fact it was a remake of a TV series, but also because of the chemistry between Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill. It was a fun, entertaining comedy which was very successful and of course that means a sequel would be made.

The result is 22 Jump Street. Usually sequels to comedies will disappoint because they try to do the exact same thing and it simply doesn’t work again (Analyze That, The Hangover 2). But is this movie able to also surprise people in a positive way like the original did? Continue reading
