Review the Jungle Book

If there is one thing which is usually worse than the original, it’s the remake. I often steer clear of them (My Sassy Girl, Old Boy, The Thing), but there are times when my curiosity wins (or loses depending how you look at it) from my instinct (Point Break). During the last couple of years Disney has started remaking their animated classics in the form of live action movies and many are already planned for the coming years (including Dumbo, Pinocchiio, Beauty and the Beast and Mulan). Movies like Alice in Wonderland and Cinderella proved that these movies can be pretty good and now there is The Jungle Book. I can still remember seeing the original cartoon and the songs of that movie I never forgot. Does director Jon Favreau (Chef, Iron Man) succeed in bringing the story to an environment which isn’t drawn? Continue reading

Review Chef

There are some movies which manage to enchant you during their running time, which pull you into a world you like to stay in a bit longer. Chef, which is directed and stars Jon Favreau, this is done by the swiftly moving story, the atmosphere, the awesome soundtrack and of course the food. It also stars many great actors and actresses like Scarlett Johansson, Robert Downey Jr, John Leguizamo, Dustin Hoffman and Bobby Cannavale in both big and small roles. Continue reading

Iron Man 2 (2010)

The first Iron Man film was a very good superhero movie (which i gave an 8 at the time). It was a good movie that showed the origins of Iron man. Now that we know how he came to be, part 2 can crank up the action. Does Iron Man how to fly to great highs again or is there a malfunction in the suit that makes the movie crash horribly?
