The Monday Question: Bad rewatch!

It’s Monday and you know what that means, time for a new Monday Question. This past week I rewatched a movie I hadn’t seen in years and liked a lot when I was younger. Seeing it again made me realise it was pretty bad, but still there is one reason I like to rewatch it. This week’s question:

Do you sometimes rewatch a bad movie because of a specific scene or character?

The movie I’m talking about is Little Nicky starring Adam Sandler. Like I said the movie isn’t that good, but the character above is the reason I still enjoy watching it because of his scenes. It’s Tarantino playing a blind preacher who runs away everytime he sees Little Nicky (son of the devil) pass him by. Something happens to him each time and the alternative ending to the movie also stars him. It’s a little role, but I can’t get enough of seeing those bits of the movie.

ha, interesting question. I don’t think I rewatch bad movies to see a certain scene I love, but I do rewatch a fair few guilty pleasure movies…. in fact we did FIRED UP again this weekend.

I never seen that movie, why you enjoy it so much and why is it a guilty pleasure?

Yes. In “Candy”, the worst movie ever made staring the most famous people, I love watching the Richard Burton scene.

This is a movie I never have seen or heard of, should I give it a go?

The movie is truly awful, but yes, give it a go. It stars Richard Burton, Walter Matthau, James Colburn, John Huston, Marlon Brando, Ringo Star, John Aston, Sugar Ray Robinson, and probably a few others I’m forgetting. It’s from 1968.

Don’t think I ever purposely re-watch a bad movie. Like Scott, I re-watched some guilty pleasure movies. But about a month ago, I re-watched 27 Dresses that I enjoyed when it was released, but I discovered that it wasn’t that good haha

Strange that sometimes a movie can disappoint so much on a rewatch….

I didn’t even get through Little Nicky the first time I tried to watch it! Life’s too short to watch bad movies twice. But like the others above, if it’s a guilty pleasure, then hell yeah I’ll re-watch it.

Hahaha, true I don’t rewatch bad movies, but as I said I really enjoyed this one when I was younger….my movie taste was horrible I guess ;)

Yeah, I guess that also plays part of it and also I reason I hardly rewatch movies….

I don’t rewatch bad films for scenes but if I’m watching tv and I catch a film half-way through and know a cool scene is coming up, I’ll keep watching until I see it. That’s as close as I get.

Yeah, that’s something I do as well, unless it’s on a channel with loads of commercial breaks, then I really won’t bother…
