In Your Eyes (2014) – Review

Review In Your Eyes

If there is one thing people are quick to do, is to judge others based on just a little information on them. Even if you don’t have an idea what the other has been through or what the things are they are struggling with. But what would happen if you would literally see the world through their eyes, how would that change you? That’s what this romantic movie is about.

Review In Your Eyes

Rebecca Porter (Zoe Kazan) is a young female who has been married for a while to a successful doctor. She’s had some issues in her past resulting in her husband to control everything in her life. This also means she is regularly humiliated. Dylan Kershaw (Michael Stahl-David) lives at the other side of the country. He’s an ex-convict who is struggling with his carwash job and is closely checked by his parole officer. He isn’t allowed to meet up with bad friends, but that turns out to be difficult. On his way to work he experiences something strange, when he suddenly can see through Rebecca’s eyes. She can see what he is seeing and after the initial shock they find out they can communicate. The two do so regularly and learn more about each other, but how will it change their surroundings and people they know?

“might want to give this one a chance…”

The premise of telepathy is an interesting one and is used in a funny way, making In Your Eyes an entertaining film. There are times when you wonder why the two do not pretend to call each other, as this could save them a lot of trouble. If you can look past that, however, and are looking for a light-hearted romantic movie then you might want to give this one a chance.
