Triangle (2009)

As you may know I’m a big fan of movies that have to do with time travel that make you think about what happened. Movies like Donnie Darko, Primer and Timecrimes are some of them which I can’t get enough of. Triangle is another one that can be added to this list.

The story revolves around Jess (Melissa George), who is a single mother living together with her autistic son. She decides to take a break and join her friends on a boat trip, while she has dropped her son at school. It’s a trip which turns out very differently from what she expected as she ends up on an ocean liner. Something weird seems to be going on there and a mysterious killer seems to be after them. As you are watching it there isn’t a moment that you are relaxed. Just like Jess you will be on edge constantly as you just don’t know what will happen. The way in which this movie plays with time and time loops was so amazing to see. It’s a complex story which you will want to watch again after you finished it as you will have some questions.

I don’t want to give away too much, but if you like the movies I mentioned in the introduction, you will also really like this movie. With an excellent cast, lots of thrills and an ending that will make you want to see it again it’s really a movie that you should check out.

Score: 8

  1. As a big fan of time travel too I’m going to have to seek out this film. Great review, Nostra – I think Melissa George has a lot of talent too so it’s great to see her having a good lead role.
