It’s been a while since I done one of these, but thought it would be fun to do one again. Hope you had a good weekend. I definitely did as I organised a movie blog get together event for dutch movie bloggers. We met up in a cinema in Utrecht, watched It’s Already Tomorrow in Hong Kong, did a film quiz and basically had an amazing time getting to know each other. I also launched filmblogs.nl, which basically shows all the latest posts from the various movie blogs in the Netherlands, all in one quick overview. The event took a lot of planning, but it was an amazing day which I’m still smiling about, two days later.
Which leads me to this week’s Monday question:
Did you ever attend a movie blog event and if so what was the experience like?
I never went to such an event before (although I did meet Ruth from Flixchatter in Amsterdam once) so I didn’t have much experience in what such an event should be but have shaped it the way I would have liked to see it.
Yes, indeed. At the annual TCM Classic Film Festival here in Hollywood, CA. Really a blast to meet up with people who shared your interest and enthusiasm online and meet them in person. Haven’t been disappointed, yet.
Cool, so this was during another event, not specifically for movie bloggers?
Yeah, #TCMFF is not specifically for movie bloggers, but there are a number of them who attend this multi-day movie event.
I was going to make the same comment le0pard13 is one of the bloggers I met at TCM. I think an event exclusively for bloggers would be a kick. Sorry Nostra that you aren’t here to put it together for us.
No, I’m not sure how I’d do that really. Im never truly sure whether the blogs I’m reading come from the UK (where I am) or other countries anyway.
Not a lot of other movie bloggers around my parts, New Orleans, LA. I do know the select few that reside here, but I know most of you guys are in other countries.
That would be a phenomenal idea. I actually haven’t met any of the bloggers I regularly read or talk to. How could would it be to have a bloggers event? I’d love that.
Would be interesting to meet people and speak about films for hours, but in 8 years of ‘blogging’ (and still hating that term), I’ve only spotted a handful of Scottish blogs, and one from my area – but it’s a Dead Blog now I think. (RIP)
