To do this, he has to beat Le Chiffre in a game of high stakes poker. The movie ends with a famous poker scene where Bond beats the villain’s full house with a straight flush.

Hard Eight is a 1986 drama directed by Paul Thomas Anderson. The movie has a star-studded cast that includes Philip Baker Hall, John C. Reilly, Gwyneth Paltrow and Samuel L. Jackson. The plot follows Sydney, a professional gambler, and John, a losing gambler who lost all his money playing in Las Vegas. Sydney decides to take John under his wings and show him his best gambling tricks. Things go well until John meets and falls for cocktail waitress Clementine, played by Gwyneth Paltrow Fun fact: Hard Eight is named after a dice roll in craps, which is when both dice land on four.
